Singheshwar Sthan is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Madhepura district. The divine Shivling here is considered a symbol of immense faith and devotion of the people. It is said that this place was once the Tapabhoomi of the great Shringi Rishi. Here he had built 7 Havan Kunds for Yagya, which are still seen in the form of Khandar. Due to the residence of Shringi Rishi, this place became famous as Singheshwar Sthan. Singheshwar Sthan is located at a distance of eight kilometres from Dauram Madhepura (North Eastern Railway), which is the headquarters of the block of the same name. This village, located about 7 kilometres north, is famous for an ancient Shiva temple. According to legend, Shringa Rishi established the Shivling in the Singheshwar Sthan temple.
